Patient # 23
Name: Szymon "Sy" Benczik
Gender: Male
Age: Seventeen [Born August 29 ]
Appearance: Szymon is very very small for a boy his age at around 5 feet 6 inches. He still has a baby face and very rosy cheeks. His eyes are a clear blue and his hair is golden blonde, giving off the hint of an angel. Such looks can be decieving. He's also colorblind to green and blue, always mixing the two up.
Mental Illnesses:
Intermittent explosive disorder [ICD-9 312.34] - A behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of uncontrollable rage, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand. IED belongs to the larger family of Axis I impulse control disorders listed in the DSM-IV-TR, along with kleptomania, pyromania, pathological gambling, and others. Impulsive aggression is unpremeditated, and is defined by a disproportionate reaction to any provocation, real or perceived.
Personality: Szymon is angry, very very angry. Whether or not you have provoked him, he remains quite angry. Looks can be deceiving. He can usually stay a bit calmer for a longer period of time around those he likes, but it is in the end, unable to control his anger. He is capable of intelligent thought, only to end up forgetting after he becomes angry with what goes on around him. When alone, Szymon has the tendency to stare at the ground in silence and does't smile. But all in all, he is just a misunderstood boy who has given up making friends, unless you have the patience to deal with his anger.
Biography: Born into a very rich family, Szymon lived a good life. Although he was often concieved to be an angel, Szymon was often quite the opposite. His parents loved him, but would often give up when he couldn't speak in a calm tone for a long period of time. The family spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and solve Szymon's anger issues, none of them, however, succeeded. In the end, Szymon would remain alone in his room and continue fooling everyone into thinking he was an angel. Until they had heard about Abattoir, they had abandoned the possibility of Szymon actually being mentally unbalanced or insane. But after a long conference that left Mr and Mrs Benczik convinced that their son was in good hands, they left Szymon here, against his will, in hopes that he will one day recover and join the face of society. They still send him postcards and schoolwork for him to catch up.
