[I'm not going to write it all tonight, seeing as it's a pretty late hour at the moment, but I'll at least start it and edit the post to include the rest some time later :3 But seeing as I'm half asleep, I doubt it'll make any sense at all XD But I'm going to give it a shot! Enjoy~ ]

Ever since she was a small child, Amaya could see the fairies. Some of them were nice, but others were mean. Some of them would tease her or try to hurt her, but there were three that always protected her: Milan, Val, and Iris. Typical pixies, they loved to make mischief and didn't get along with one another, but they tolerated each other in their mutual goal to keep Amaya safe. But one thing they always made her swear was that she would never tell anybody.

And despite the nightly horrific visits from bloodied spirits and the terrible voices during the day, she kept her promise. Besides, they would insist, we're your friends Nobody else matters as long as we're here.

Until she met her. The first "real" friend she'd ever had. The two of them were inseparable, and slowly, the voices began to quiet. Amaya began to see that if there was other sound, she couldn't hear what they told her to do - and if she couldn't hear them, she couldn't obey them. They had no way of making her slice her arms open just to get them to stop because she'd found an alternative.

It got to the point that she thought she may even be free of the ghosts and the voices for good. If nothing else, she consoled herself, the fae are good to me. A day came where she slipped up, forgetting herself before her friend, and spoke to the pixies as if they were visible to all. Not just that - she'd spoken of the magic they'd taught her. When her friend stared at her in alarm, Amaya figured it would do no harm to explain the situation. After all, they were closer than siblings, weren't they? They could trust one another with anything and would never, ever leave one another, right?

"This one in brown and green is Milan. He's the cheery one, but don't let that fool you! He's witty when he wants to be! And this little guy in blue and silver is Val - he's always grumpy, so ignore him. This lady here in green and white is Iris; she's got a temper, but she's good-natured. They've taught me magic ever since I was little," she said casually, giggling as each of the fae bowed in turn. "I think they like you. But they always told me not to tell anybody about them. I can't imagine why."

Her friend had stumbled back, shaking her head. "You're insane," she'd murmured. "You need help. Is this your idea of a joke?"
"No, of course not," Amaya replied, frowning. "Why would I lie? Look, there's plenty more to the story if you don't believe me. I never told you of the horrors I've seen. You saved me from them, you know. I'm eternally grateful. Without you I would have died, because the voices and the ghosts were always trying to kill me." She stepped closer to her friend to lessen the distance that had been created, and felt her heart stop as her friend stepped back once more. "What's the matter?"

"What do you think is the matter? You're clearly not well! But I'll find some way to help you, just you wait," she'd promised before running off. For days, Amaya wondered where she went wrong, all the while being told by the fae that she should have been more careful.

She knew that her mistake had cost her their friendship and with it everything that made her happy in life, but as long as she had the fae she would be okay. The voices returned, and with them, her insomnia and depression. It wasn't long before her friend spoke to her again, smiling. "I have a trip planned, Don't worry, I already told your parents," she'd assured. "Come on, it'll be great. There are others like you there."

"Others who can see fairies and do magic?"
"Sure, yeah. I'm sure you'll get along with them."

Still blindly trusting her, Amaya didn't have the slightest of suspicions about her friend's motivations. "She betrayed you once by not believing you, what makes you think she won't betray you again?" Val demanded, but Amaya ignored him. They were in the car for a long while and eventually Amaya fell asleep, only to be woken up to see that it was nighttime. There was a lone building before them and nothing behind, details lost to darkness.
"Where is this?" she asked.
"It's where you'll get better. It'll be safer here - I did all the research and everything and talked it over with your parents. I called ahead of time - look, an escort is heading out way."
"Why?" Amaya whispered.
"Because we're friends."

She forgot how long ago that had been, but she'd been in Abattoir ever since.

[Never mind, I guess that is all of it until I edit it at a sane hour and add anything I feel is necessary.... Oh gosh, I could make this so much longer, but I would hate to bother anybody with it, so this is fine for now >< ]
